Words of Life - Ryan Homes Build

Fix these words in your hearts. Get them deep inside you. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night. Inscribe them on the doorposts and your gates so that the days of you and your children will be many. Deuteronomy 11:18-22.

We had the chance to do it! We were able to write verses and quotes on the frame of our home. And of course, our son wrote his name everywhere. I think every open space has numbers and his name written by him. I had to laugh, but overall, I am so excited. We did quite a few in each room, but I love quotes and verses. We also added in two "notes" to our kids in their rooms. Some of my favorites that we used:

Kitchen
- They ate together in their homes, happy to share their food with joyful hearts. Acts 2:46
- So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
- Wash your bowl - rinse away self-importance and clean up your own mess. If you leave it undone, it will get sticky. If you’re distracted by the weight of whats undone, set a timer and devote yourself wholeheartedly to the task at hand until the bell rings.
- Good moms have sticky floors, messy kitchens, laundry piles, dirty ovens, and happy kids.

French Doors
- What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness - John Steinbeck.

Windows
- I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud. I want to eat cold tangerines and sing out loud and stay up all night laughing and paint my walls the exact color of the sky. I want to sleep hard on clean white sheets and throw parties and eat ripe tomatoes and read good books. I want my everyday life to make God belly laugh, glad that He gave life to someone who loves the gift.

Family Room
- We need people in our lives with whom we can be as open as possible. To have real conversations with people may seem like such a simple, obvious suggestion but it involves courage and risk. Thomas Moore
- The most wasted of all days is one without laughter - EE Cummings
- God made a whole beautiful earth and decided to put you in it, to experience all of this beauty. You can’t do that watching television all the time. - Donald Miller
- Let the darkness come; set a curfew on the internet and tv and discover the natural balance between daylight and darkness, work and rest.
- In this house: we do second chances, we do grace, we do real, we do mistakes, we do I’m sorry, we do loud really well, we do hugs, we do family, we do love
